In 2026/27, AIS is excited to introduce two new subjects to the Secondary Curriculum: Engineering and Industrial Design. These subjects are designed to provide students with practical, creative, and problem-solving skills that complement our existing curriculum.
This subject offers secondary students the opportunity to explore the principles of engineering and technology in a hands-on and engaging way. Students will learn to design, build, and test solutions to real-world problems, applying mathematical, scientific, and technological concepts.
Through projects and collaborative challenges, Engineering fosters critical thinking, innovation, and practical skills that prepare students for future STEM pathways.
Industrial Design combines creativity with practical skills, giving students the chance to conceptualize, design, and create tangible products. With a strong focus on manual arts, students will engage in activities that develop both their design thinking and hands-on craftsmanship.
From drawing and modeling to constructing functional prototypes, Industrial Design encourages experimentation, problem-solving, and the integration of aesthetics with functionality.
Both subjects aim to inspire curiosity, innovation, and practical skills, providing students with exciting opportunities to develop competencies that are highly relevant for the modern world.
