Queensland Government Department of Education – School and Region Reviews (SRR) Report, 2024
This report is a product of a school review carried out by the Queensland Government Department of Education School and Region Reviews (SRR) branch for the Australian International School – Sharjah, conducted from 19 to 22 February 2024.
This report, led by Cameron Hodges, Senior Principal, Reviews, SRR, presents an evaluation of the school’s performance against the nine domains of the School Improvement Tool. It also outlines a series of improvement strategies to guide future directions for continued growth.
Key Findings:
- ‘Connection before content’ is the cornerstone for improving student engagement, wellbeing, and academic outcomes.
- School leaders drive and model an unwavering commitment to supporting every learner to realise their potential.
- The school-developed Outstanding Teacher Profile (OTP), aligned to pedagogical practices and professional standards for teachers, is highly valued by both leaders and teaching staff.
- Students, parents, and staff describe the school as their ‘second family’ and praise the breadth of support and strength of relationships that enhance their learning experience.
