From Grade 7 to 12, AIS is at the forefront of innovative secondary education in the UAE. With an exceptional Australian Curriculum delivered by an outstanding international teaching team, we are providing learning experiences positioning students firmly on their journey to success.
As our secondary students progress through their schooling toward tertiary education and the wider adult world, this journey is complemented by highly qualified, caring and innovative staff, a whole-school focus on individual wellbeing and a sense of pride and belonging to support our outstanding community of learners.
During Grades 7 to 10, the Australian Curriculum, incorporates inquiry-based pedagogies, prepares our students to become successful, confident and creative learners as well as active informed citizens through the eight learning areas developed during the primary years. These include English, Mathematics, Science, Health and Physical Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, The Arts, Technologies and Languages. This exceptional Western educational curriculum is accompanied by a strong focus on Emirati culture, including Arabic Studies and Language. In this way, AIS presents a unique, innovative and proud educational opportunity for the families in our schooling community, positioning our students for success in the secondary years and beyond as global citizens in a digital era.
AIS offers two internationally acclaimed secondary course options:
- The International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB)
- The Australian-based Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) that includes options for ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank) and non ATAR pathway.
These programs allow students in Grades 11 and 12 to build on the inquiry-based learning of Grades 7 to 10 and provide continuity in curriculum and pedagogy. On completion of their studies, AIS graduates who choose either IB or QCE will have internationally and locally recognised credentials suitable for tertiary studies and beyond.
